The Stardust Charm vibrator by NS Novelties is one of those toys that’s good in theory, but fails in the execution. Yes, it’s pretty, yes, it’s powerful, but where does it lack? Let’s find out.
I tried the Stardust Charm like any other vibrator. I charged it, turned it on, played with the settings, but the one thing that was different was how confused I was. The vibrations weren’t reaching the end that goes against the body. Yet the where the vibrations originated from, they were out of control.
If you look at the design, the ‘handle’, which is the silicone part, is smaller than the glass portion, which is the end that is supposed to go against and/or inside your body. Upon turning it on, you immediately feel exactly where the motor is…in the handle. Which would normally be fine, but it almost instantly made my hand go numb AND when I felt the end of the glass part, there was nothing but a small buzz emanating from it. This was very frustrating.
My guess, is that the crystal pieces take the vibration and use it for their own momentum, OR maybe the glass surrounding them is too thick. Either way, there is NO way I would every be able to get off using it the way it was intended.
That lead to some experimentation.
Like I mentioned before, almost ALL of the vibration power was staying in the silicone handle. So, I went on to try the toy like that. I flipped it over, using the glass as the handle, and surprisingly it was very effective. The vibrations are the right amount of rumbly, holding it by the longer end turned it into a makeshift wand type toy, it was actually quite pleasant.
Using the Charm in this manner makes things just as difficult though. Now I was holding it by a glass piece, which means that any amount of liquid that gets on my fingers or the piece itself makes things very slippery. Also, I was now using the end with the charger and the buttons against my body, so adjusting the settings was…interesting.
Overall, I would probably not recommend the Stardust Charm. While it’s pleasing to look at, that’s about all the pleasure you’ll be getting from it. I would honestly save a couple bucks and go with the Silver Bullet if you were going to go with a large vibe.
- If you use the silicone side as the vibe, its wonderful. You hold on to the glass portion as if it is a wand, which makes use on all body types very easy.
- If you use the glass portion as the vibe, it’s awful. The vibrations are in the silicone end, so ALL the vibrations are there, where your hand is, and NONE of the vibrations reach the end of the glass side.
